Types of endangered animals: rhinos

The Rhinoceros is a large mammal in which is part of the Rhinocerotidea family. A once very numberous number of rhinoceros has decreased into a few and only five species that are still living today. Most of the time, rhinos sleep under trees. Now, they are to the point of extinction, because people are wiping out the trees on the savannahs.Pollution such as toxic waste and pesticide are on the grass, and when the rhinos eat grass, they die. The population is declining because of humans. one of the main reason for rhinos being endanguered is because of thier horns. In Yemen, they're carved into fancy dagger handles, which sell for $500 to $12,000! Many Asians believe that powdered rhino horn cures everything from nose bleeds to food poisoning. As a result, poachers kill rhinos, cutofftheirhorns and sell them for big bucks!
